Ricardo Trivino, a Mexican-born rally driver, was crowned once again regional champion for the North America, Central America, and northern South America and Caribbean (NACAM) in Costa Rica. The Costa Rica-based rally became his 118th international rally.

On his sixth win this year, the 39-year old rally driver is now getting ready to conquer Germany’s rally circuit as part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) to take place next month on August 24-26.

Trivino, who is also a Mexico Brand Ambassador, is certainly having a great year so far.” Promoting Mexico throughout the world is one of my biggest passions that I take a lot of pride on. Since 2002, when I began my career at the WRC, I have been working very hard to get a lot of experience and leave the best of me on the track.”

In a recent interview with MexicoToday.org Trivino also said, “This is what I always dreamed about since I was very young. To me, rally racing is one of the most complete sports, and you make it an art.” When asked about Mexico, Trivino commented, “Mexico is a world treasure. Come to Mexico and enjoy our wonders – its food, its nature, its people, its traditions, and also the great opportunities it offers as a business and investment destination.”

Trivino is the only Mexican rally driver who has participated in the WRC, a championship that is regulated and controlled by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for worldwide motorsport. The FIA’s WRC pits cars and drivers in a series of two, three or four-day events though some of the toughest, and most varied, conditions on the planet.
