Dominical SurfersCosta Rica is a land of many attractive sunsets, and one of the best spots to see the sun go down amidst vanilla skies that seemed to have floated out of a Monet painting is Dominical, one of the prettiest coastal towns in our country. In recent years, Playa Dominical has attracted tourists who wish to keep this wonderful tourism secret all to themselves. As previously reported by The Costa Rica Star:

The long black volcanic sand beach of Dominical is situated on the southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where the coastal and mountain highways meet. Dominical is known for strong, fast, hollow waves, and is popular with experienced surfers looking for good, consistent waves and the quiet, laid-back vibe of the southern coast. This is one of the few beaches of Costa Rica with lifeguards on duty for the powerful surf and strong currents.

In 2014, Dominical hosted the Marley Cup Surf Tournament, which was part of the 2014 Olympus National Surfing Circuit. This spot regularly gets waves of about two to three meters. Enjoy the amazing sunset at Dominical in this recently shared YouTube video.
