In keeping with the ongoing trend of upscale and luxury residential neighborhoods in Costa Rica, a renowned developer recently announced a new project that seeks to attract expats and locals who enjoy a safe and pampered, maintenance-free lifestyle. To this effect, residential development firm has acquire 33 hectares of land in a scenic area located 300 meters northwest of the fancy Cebolla Verde (Green Onion) restaurant in Alto Palomas, Santa Ana.

 

The name of this new neighborhood is Lomas del Valle. According to Milena Salazar of business daily La Republica, Lomas del Valle is comprised of three distinct neighborhoods: Estate Lots, Premium Homes and the trendy Flats21. The breakdown of residences at Lomas del Valle is as follows:

 

• Estate Lots consist of 20 home sites measuring from 950 to 1,800 square meters each (about 10,225 to 19,375 square feet). These lots are zoned to be developed as spacious single-family residences.
• Premium Homes are 55 lots measuring from 311 top 460 square meters each (about 3,347 to 4,951 square feet). Like the Estate Lots above, these home sites are slated to be developed as single-family residences, but they are less spacious.
• There are five mid-rise condominium towers in the Flats21 neighborhood; each unit measures from 156 to 404 square meters (about 1,679 to 4,348 square feet of living space. Flats21 follows the trend of vertical development in the Greater San Jose Metropolitan Area (Spanish initials: GAM) of Costa Rica, which consists of luxurious living spaces that combine resort-like amenities with high levels of security and convenience. Each condominium tower has two discreet lobby entrances that can be accessed from an underground parking structure that will be monitored around the clock by digital cameras and security personnel.

 

Alto Palomas is located right in between the upmarket municipalities of Escazu and Santa Ana. This planned development can be accessed from the modern Prospero Fernandez Highway or from the picturesque Carretera Vieja (the Old Road connecting the two towns).

 

A clubhouse, resort-style swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, playgrounds small nature preserves, “pocket parks,” and vegetable gardens are among the many amenities planned for Lomas del Valle.
