Portuguese forward-striker Cristiano Ronaldo of the stellar Real Madrid football club may visit Costa Rica in the near future, but confirmation of his intention and the precise date will depend on busy football schedules and on the wedding plans of club mate Keylor Navas.

According to a report by sports journalist Esteban Valverde of national newspaper La Nacion, Ronaldo is on the guest list for the formal, Catholic wedding of star goalkeeper Navas to his longtime bride in Costa Rica. Since his signing to the Spanish club Real Madrid of the Spanish League, goalkeeper Navas has become very close friends with various star players, specifically with Mexican striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez, Brazilian winger Marcelo, and Ronaldo, a player who many consider to be among the best in the world.

All the above-named players are on the guest list for the wedding ceremony, which will be celebrated in Costa Rica. The problem with scheduling the wedding is that the groom and many of his guests have extremely busy schedules this year. For the National Men’s Football Team of Costa Rica, the Gold Cup looms large, and Navas is constantly in the starting lineup. There’s also the Copa America, which means that the schedules of Rodriguez and Marcelo are also compromised.

Aside from his football schedule with the Real Madrid, Ronaldo has a friendly international match scheduled on July 15th, when the national teams of Portugal and Italy will meet. In theory, Ronaldo’s schedule appears to be the most conducive to attend the wedding before Navas focuses on the Gold Cup, which Costa Rica is under great pressure to win. In the end, the most likely guests at this wedding would be Ronaldo and Chicharito since the latter may not be called to play in the alternative lineup that Mexico intends to play at the Copa America.
