London, Dec 6 (EFE).– The stabbings of three people at a London metro station are being investigated as a “terrorist act,” the Metropolitan Police said Sunday.
One of the three people stabbed on Saturday at the Leytonstone station on the east side of London is listed in serious condition.
Investigators are looking at the possible terrorist connections of the assailant, who eyewitnesses said shouted “this is for Syria” after attacking people at the London Tube station.
The suspect was arrested by police shortly after the incident at the Leytonstone station occurred.
The suspect, who was carrying a 7.5-centimeter (nearly three-inch) knife, was subdued with a taser.
British police have been on alert for terrorist attacks since Parliament approved Prime Minister David Cameron’s request for expanded airstrikes on Islamic State positions in Syria. EFE
