Houston, Jan 10 (EFE; odds by IDSca.com).– The Kansas City Chiefs rolled to a 30-0 win over the Houston Texans, while the Pittsburgh Steelers rallied to beat the Cincinnati Bengals 18-16 in the American Football Conference wild card playoff games.

Quarterback Alex Smith led the Chiefs to their first playoff win in 22 years.

Kansas City will play the New England Patriots on Jan. 16 in the divisional playoff round at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The Chiefs (12-5), whose defense shut down the Texans (9-8), have won 11 straight games.

The Steelers, for their part, beat the host Bengals on a 35-yard field goal by Chris Boswell with just 14 seconds left in Saturday’s second wild card playoff game.

The Bengals (12-5) came close to winning their first playoff game in 25 years, but a fumble by running back Jeremy Hill with 1:27 left gave the Steelers new life.

Pittsburgh (11-6) marched down the field aided by a personal foul penalty on Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict for unnecessary roughness on a hit on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on cornerback Adam Jones for arguing with Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter during an on-field incident involving players from both teams.

The penalties put the Steelers in easy field goal range and helped them pull off the win against their divisional rivals. EFE
