Costa Rican surfer Leilani McGonagle earned her pass to round 4 of 6 (quarterfinals) at the Azores Airlines Pro Women’s Qualifying Series #26 1,500 in Azores, Portugal, she will be competing again tomorrow and her heat will be in the “Man to Man” format facing tough competitor Justine Dupont from France.
Other Costa Rican Competitors Carlos “Cali” Muñoz, Emily Gussoni and Leilani’s brother Noe Mar McGonagle
saw their participation come to an end, Emily finished in position 25 of 48, Cali couldn’t get past round 2 and Noe got eliminated after round 3.

The list of surfers that will be participating in the trials to earn one of the three wildcard spots to the Essential Costa Rica Open Pro: A WSL QS 3000 Event was announced by the organizing company Orange Wave in their facebook page. The Wildcards will take place September 17 and 18 in front of Terrazas del Pacifico Hotel in Hermosa Beach.
