With no crocodiles making an appearance in Esterillos today, the male and female quarterfinals of the WSL Essential Costa Rica Open Pro are defined, only one Costa Rican went through to this stage in the competition, Noe Mar McGonagle, Carlos Muñoz was eliminated in Round 5 and female competitors, Emily Gussoni, Coral Wiggins, Lisbeth Vindas and Leilani McGonagle all were eliminated in round 2.

Male quarter-finalists competing in four heats tomorrow for a pass to semi-finals and finals are:

Noe Mar McGonagle who will face Jordy Collins from the U.S.A.
Ethan Ewing (AUS) vs. Frederico Morais (PRT)
Jorgann Couzinet (REU) vs. Olamana Eleogram (HAW)
Timothee Bisso (GLP) vs. Dimitri Ouvre (BLM)

Female quarter-finalists are:

Justine Dupont (FRA) vs. Mahina Maeda (HAW)
Anali Gomez (PER) vs. Pauline Ado (FRA)
Silvana Lima (BRA) vs. Paige Hareb (NZL)
Alyssa Spencer (USA) vs. Brianna Cope (HAW)

Oney Anwar from Indonesia got the best wave of the day with a 9.60 for his second wave in round 5, followed by Australian Ethan Ewing with a 9.5 also in round 5; yet Anwar went down in Round 6 scoring very low in both his waves. The best score in Round 6 came from Dimitri Ouvre (Saint Bathelemy) with an 8.93.
On the female side of the competition it was French Justine Dupont who got the best score with an 8.93
