Costa Rica is the country in Central America with more digitally attractive to tourists and it holds fourth position in America in this category according to Digital Country Index.
This digital country index was developed by Bloom Consulting and it measures the total amount of searches performed worldwide towards any given country. A Digital Country, according to Bloom Consulting, “refers to a country that has triggered proactive interest from stakeholders in the Digital world. The analysis is based in searches in 5 specific “dimensions” or areas for any given country: tourism, talent, investment, exports and national prominence.
Among 245 countries, Costa Rica ranks 41 in the world, in the tourism dimension Costa Rica holds the 18 position globally, while Spain, Italy and France hold the first three slots. In America, Costa Rica has the 8th position.
Costa Rica individual dimension positions were: Exports 51, Investment 57, Tourism 18, Talent 32 and Prominence 40.
When it comes to the tourism category in America, Mexico managed position 9, and was the only country to make the top 10, Canada ranked 14 in the tourism dimension, while globally it made it into the top 5, the United States managed the 15th position in the tourism dimension but globally it was number 2 in the world and number one in America.
In the general ranking the United Kingdom is the best ranked.
The top ten in America’s general ranking: United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Costa Rica, Peru and Panama.
