The community of Escazú in Costa Rica continues to be one of the most exclusive areas in Costa Rica and also one of the epicenters of nightlife activities, following is a list of some of the best bars in Escazú.
La Cantina: La Cantina has been around since 1993, it opens Monday through Saturday, it has karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays and live music during the week. Diverse food and drink menu, mostly Mexican inspired.
Kbaña Classic: This is a restaurant-bar, when there are big sporting events TV’s take the stage, other times they have a DJ or just background music. Food is good and it there’s a large variety of drinks. It’s mostly an over 30’s crowd. Kbaña Classic has several locations, the one in Escazu is located in Plaza Itskatzú (where the Outback restaurant is).
Henry’s: This sports bar has been around for a long time, it changed locations a couple of years ago and its now in the back street to Multiplaza. The place has a large selection of beers including craft beers, cocktails and a good number of dishes. Service is good and in general it’s a relaxing environment for a sports bar.
Tintos & Blancos: This place is geared towards a sophisticated crowd, it’s a wine bar, but they also offer a variety of beers and cocktails. Food is very good and they occasionally have live music, there’s indoors and outdoors sitting. It’s located in Multiplaza Escazú.
Pocket Food and Drinks: Famous for its Gin menu, the food here is also very good. Charming place, it gets crowded, but the service is usually good.
Más TKila: Music, dance, and lots of tequila, this is a Mexican style bar, during the weekends it gets crowded but the attention is still good, The place is frequented by a mixed crowd mostly 20 and up; located in Plaza Itzkatzú.
Jazz Café: The Jazz Café usually has live music events and even stand-up comedy shows, the place is usually crowded, they do have a space to dance if the music that evening is meant for it, the variety of drinks is good, food is OK, mostly finger food, if the place is crowded the service is slow.
8avo Rooftop: This place sells on the view alone, it is located in the rooftop of the Sheraton Hotel and Casino with an incredible view of the city. Exquisite, sophisticated and pricey, during the week they usually have special promos. During the weekend live music and a great, exclusive ambiance.
Hooters : We have to include Hooters in the list because it’s always a safe bet. If beer and wings is what you want, there’s a Hooters in Escazú.
Rouge: Club Rouge is a relatively new option in the scene, located close to Multiplaza Escazú, right across from the Volvo dealership. DJ music, dancing, a fun party environment, this is more of a youngster scene, they play a lot of reggae and roots, but still fun and upscale.
