As The Costa Rica Star had reported back on July 28th, former ambassador to the United States in Costa Rica, Stafford Fitzgerald Haney will be part of the “celebrities” that will compete in season four of the T.V. dancing competition “Dancing With The Stars Costa Rica”.

48-year-old Haney will have professional dancer and Salsa world champion Lucía Jiménez as his partner on the dance floor.

In the third season of this show, Jiménez and her partner, Costa Rican chef Daniel Vargas won the first place in the competition.

S. Fitzgerald Haney who is married and father of four children concluded his term as ambassador to Costa Rica back on July 14th; however, he then announced his family was staying in the country for the time being.

He is the first ambassador to take part of this television show in Costa Rica, and the announcement of his participation took everyone by surprise; participants of Dancing with the Stars usually include T.V. personalities, radio personalities, models, singers and sports figures.

In this season, the ambassador is competing against Costa Rican personalities such as sports journalist Adriana Duran, T.V. host Victor Carvajal, former soccer player Harold Wallace, among others.

As an ambassador, Haney was always very involved in building a stronger relationship between Costa Rica and the United States. He received from the Costa Rican government the Juan Mora Fernández National Order honor award in the “Gran Cruz Placa de Plata” rank, a distinction given to foreign personalities in recognition of their services to the country.

The fourth season of Dancing with the Stars Costa Rica will kick off Sunday, September 10 at 7 p.m. in local Channel 7.
