This weekend in Punta Leona, the community celebrates the arrival of the green season with live music, handcrafts, culture, sports, and fun activities for the whole family. Rain Fest is an annual event that greets the rainy season in the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. This is the second year of the event, which seeks to bring together visitors and the community of one the country’s premier tourist destinations.

Rain Fest is for the entire family. Sustainable tourism and an affinity for the arts are two intrinsic factors of the Punta Leona lifestyle. All the daytime activities of Rain Fest are free for the public to enjoy. The nighttime events are geared towards young adults and feature a cover price.

The non-profit cultural exchange involves dance, theater, fine art exhibits, a souvenir and handcrafts market, music, sports, and sustainable lifestyle presentations.

The early Saturday activities include a 9.5 km beach race, Krama Yoga at Playa Blanca, lectures on medicinal plants and feng shui, folkloric and belly dance, and performances by the Carpe Diem Theater Troupe.

The Saturday nighttime concerts begin at 7:00 pm with Electric Kif from Miami, Santos & Zurdo, DJ Alejandro Peinador, and others.

On Sunday, visitors will be treated to more Krama Yoga, capoeira, modern dance, live music courtesy of the Falcon School band, and feng shui lectures.

Among Costa Rica’s many tourist destinations, Punta Leona is a pioneer in providing luxury, safety, and recreational activities for the entire family. Rain Fest was conceived with the idea that while many people anxiously await the dry season, the green season holds many charms that should be celebrated with cheer.
