The vessel of Costa Rican flag and registered as a fishing boat was stopped in waters of the Atlantic Ocean in Costa Rica by Costa Rican authorities with assistance of the United States.
Aboard the boat of name ¨Sea Phantom¨ authorities found a total of 1 ton, 228 kilograms and 782 grams of marijuana, in 54 packages which were counted by officials of the Ministry of Public Security, Drug Control Police and the National Coast Guard Service.

Three men were detained, a Nicaraguan of last name Moses and 59 years-old, a 26-year-old Costa Rican of last name Robles and finally a Jamaican 46-years of age and last name Bullar.
Apparently, the drug was picked up in Jamaica and had Costa Rica as its final destination.

In a separate operation, this time in waters of the Pacific Ocean 60 nautical miles from Golfito in Puntarenas, a boat of name “Valeria” and Ecuadorian flag was stopped carrying 346 kilograms of cocaine and 5 kilograms with 312 grams of marijuana. Three men were arrested an Ecuadorian, a Colombian and a Guatemalan.

Earlier this week two boats were also stopped in the Pacific with over 2 tons of cocaine valued in more than $64 million.
