The Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) announced the return of Disney Cruises to Costa Rica after a seven year absence.

Representatives of ICT made the announcement during their participation in the Seatrade Cruise Global Fair, the largest cruise ship fair in the world, which was taking place March 6-8 in Fort Lauderdale, United States.

According to the information released, the first cruise will arrive to Puntarenas April 15 this year.

“We are certainly very honored that the Disney Cruise Line announced its willingness to operate again the country, because this decision is the result of the hard work that the ICT and the private tourism companies have done to position ourselves in this industry and consolidate the country as an attractive destination for cruises”, stated Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism.

“Costa Rica has a very special brand. When we talk about the country passengers’ think of nature and many things already set in their minds, so it is very easy to convince them to take the cruise and visit the country”, explained Arnaldo Zanonato, manager of Disney Cruise Line.

Disney Cruises includes ships Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, two luxury cruise ships with capacity for 2,500 passengers each, three pools, a gym, four restaurants, a movie theater, a casino, seven bars, beauty parlor, spa, among other services.
