Costa Rican biker Kenneth Tencio “Pollis” managed to win a historic second place in the FISE BMX Freestyle World Series celebrated in the city of Hiroshima, Japan.

This is the first time the Costa Rican is able to take the podium in a FISE competition, the most important in the world. This achievement puts Tencio in the second position of the world ranking with 9 thousand points.

The first place was taken by Australian, Brandon Loupo, while the third position went to Venezuelan Daniel Dhers; in fourth and fifth place came Jeremy Mallot and Nick Bruce, both from the United States.

“Before the final started I just wanted to enjoy the moment. The first round was to show the judges what I could do, while the second round was for me, to enjoy myself for all the days and hours of training”, stated Tencio in the statements given to the National Olympic Committee.

“Pollis” as he is known, has had a great year since he earned a third position in the Estonia Freestyle BMX competition and took once again the first place in the X-Knights BMX competition that took place at the National Stadium last month.

“I don’t have the words to describe what I feel after achieving this second place. The only thing I can feel is joy in my soul knowing all the effort has paid off. This is what I’ve always dreamed off, being in the podium, and now I see it and I can’t find the words to thank God”, concluded Tencio.
