The Cerro de la Muerte is the place fireflies pick for their reproductive season due to the climate conditions and the dense vegetation, it is a very rare chance to see many of these winged beetles at the same time using their bioluminescence to attract mates .

The tour company Adonde ir Costa Rica is organizing a firefly tour, in which attendees will be able to admire these insects in their natural habitat.
