President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, participated as a speaker at the Inter-American Dialogue, a think tank headquartered in Washington D.C., that intents to “foster democratic governance, prosperity, and social equity in Latin America and the Caribbean”.

The Dialogue, as it is commonly known, extended the invitation to Alvarado to discuss Costa Rica’s main challenges, its future and its role in the region.

Alvarado spoke of the importance that democratic governments in Latin America deliver results for the people, to revert the lack of faith and hope in the population.

He highlighted human talent as Costa Rica’s main resource and the commitment of his administration to quality, inclusive education.

“Our country is leader in the battle against climate change. We are determined to become one of the first countries, if not the first, to reach carbon neutrality. Alternative sources of energy have arrived to stay. In Costa Rica, electric and hybrid transportation, using hydrogen and other technologies for the production of energy will soon be the norm”, expressed Alvarado.

Alvarado took advantage of his participation in The Dialogue to meet with representatives of several companies and international organizations to promote the many advantages and opportunities the country offers .
