Costa Rican Boxer Bryan Vasquez Signs With Top Rank Boxing

Costa Rican boxer and former interim-world champion Bryan “Tiquito” Vasquez, was signed with renowned boxing promoting company Top Rank.

“I want to share with my beautiful people, that after praying so much to God my moment is here, I promise to put Costa Rica in the highest point in the world, and represent each an every one of you with my heart, always grateful to God and my amazing wife Hanna Gabriels, announced “Tiquito” in his Facebook page.

“We signed a multi-year contract with the best boxing company in the world, Top Rank Boxing, thank you Bob Arum for the trust, I will not let you down (…) I am the first Tico signed by a giant in boxing and that motivates me since it was always my dream to sign with Top Rank”, concluded Vasquez.

Vasquez held two times the interim-WBA world super featherweight title, he is 30 years old and has a record of 36 wins and 3 losses. He is currently ranked by the WBA number 8 in the world in his division.

In statements to Top Rank Boxing, Vasquez commented “I want to rule the 130-pound division. I’m ready for big names, whether it’s Christopher Diaz or Oscar Valdez. They better watch out now that I’m with Top Rank. I will show everyone that Vasiliy Lomachenko is beatable, and in the near future, I want the rematch with Ray Beltran with proper notice now that I have a real promotional company behind me. I’m happy and motivated”.

The Costa Rican is now looking to have a third shot at a world title; he had his first chance back in 2012 against longtime Japanese champion Takashi Uchiyama but he fell short. He then had a second shot in 2015 in Brooklyn, New York against Javier Fortuna, loosing by unanimous decision.

Top Rank is based in Las Vegas and it is one of the biggest and oldest boxing promotion companies.
