Maruyama Coffee Co. purchased Costa Rican Coffee of Group Los Grandes de Copey at a price of $65.30 per pound, paying a total $28,073 for the 429.91 pounds of coffee that comes from the region of Santa María de Dota.

The negotiation took place during the twelfth edition of the electronic auction Cup of Excellence 2019, recognized as one of the main coffees selling programs worldwide. Not only do participants have the opportunity of getting high prices in international markets, but it also helps them enter new markets that are willing to pay for high quality coffee.

The second place went to estate Vista Al Chirripó, from the region of Pérez Zeledón, which sold at $0.1 per pound, selling a total 1,052.24 lbs. to Sulalat Coffee Trading for $42,435.42.

In 2018 Costa Rican Coffee from the Don Cayito estate made history by closing the bid at $300.09 per pound. With a lot of 529.11 pounds of the Geisha variety, and a honey type processing, it broke the world record established in 2017 by Brazil at $130.20.
