The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) informed that the owners of cars which plates end on 5 or 6 will have an additional month to comply with the technical inspection (RITEVE).

This resolution was already signed by Minister Rodolfo Méndez Mata, who explained that it is part of the measures adopted by MOPT and the Costa Rican Road Safety Council (COSEVI) to normalize the assistance to the RITEVE stations and prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

The extension had already been granted to cars with plates ending in 4; now all those that were supposed to take their car to inspection during the month of May will have time to do it through the end of June and those that are due in June will also have an additional month.

The different RITEVE stations have adjusted their schedule with the purpose of avoiding crowds in their facilities.

Starting Monday, May 25 the schedule will be extended from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday, in all the stations except the one in Liberia, Guanacaste, which will open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. but Monday through Saturday. Services are provided by appointment only.
