The Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) announced the agreement with Apple Vacations to operate a new charter flight connecting Rockford, Illinois to Liberia, Guanacaste.

The new flight will be operating once a week starting January 4th and through April 5, 2019.

Apple Vacations is a travel agency that organizes vacation tour packages for North American tourists and operates its own charter planes.

This new flight is another step by ICT in attracting new visitors to Costa Rica and in particular to the province of Guanacaste, and responds to studies that have shown the interest of people in certain locations to visit Costa Rica.

“Rockford is the third largest cities in the Illinois state, with this flight we will get direct connection to more than 14 cities in the United States, we continue to open new routes to the country from which we get the most visitors, and this will not only help us increase the tourism to Guanacaste, but it will also open doors to more destinations”, commented Cesar Jaramillo, General Manager of Coriport, company that manages the Daniel Oduber International Airport.

This is the third flight from North America to Liberia, Guanacaste announced by the current government; Sunwing Airlines will connect Vancouver Canada to Liberia and Aeromexico will bring visitors from Mexico City to Guanacaste.
