Applebee’s closed its operations in Costa Rica, confirmed the franchise owner Dine Equity

Applebee’s had three restaurants in the country, one in Terrazas shopping center in Lindora, Santa Ana, another one in Plaza Carolina , San Pedro and the third one in Cariari.

According to Julio Villegas, operations manager of Applebee’s Costa Rica the reason the decision was made obeyed to profitability issues.

With the decision 90 employees had to be let go.

The franchise began operations in Costa Rica back in 2009 with one location in Momentum Lindora, the second restaurant opened doors in 2010 in San Pedro and its third location came in 2012.
