The story had a tragic and sad end, the body of 30-year-old Massachusetts native Josh Byrne was found this Saturday several hours into a search.
Byrne and his wife Bianca arrived in Costa Rica earlier this week on their honeymoon trip after just celebrating their marriage last weekend on a farm in New Hampshire. The couple chose the area of Dominicalito in the South Pacific to celebrate their marriage. Sadly last Thursday the car they were driving was dragged into a river by a flash flood, they both made it out of the car and were trying to get to safety, Bianca made it out alive and Josh was swept away by the current.
The South Pacific of Costa Rica, Osa in particular, was severely affected by tropical wave number 40, which hit last Thursday and caused floods, landslides and extensive damages in the area.
According to our sources, the Costa Rican Red Cross and members of the Judiciary Investigative Police searched for Josh for several hours on Friday without any luck, they were forced to suspend the search due to adverse weather conditions, the search resumed the early hours of this Saturday which unfortunately ended with a very sad result.
Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and wife.
