This Wednesday, January 31, the bridge over the Virilla River in the road that connects Santa Ana to Belen (Radial Santa Ana-Belen) will be closed from 3 a.m. through 7 a.m.
A new bridge is being constructed here, and although so far the construction work has been done without the need to interrupt transit in the area, this time, however, they are required to close while they put in place a part of the structure.

“We make the recommendation to the users so they can take it into consideration for their transportation plans that morning, since a lot of people use this route to get to their jobs. If the placement of the structure is finished before the estimated time, the road will be opened immediately”, stated the communication sent by the Ministry of Public Work and Transportation.

The structure to be placed is 20 meters in length with a base of 2 meters, an opening of 7 meters and a total weight of 76 tons, this piece goes in the south end while the piece that goes on the north was already placed in January 11.

According to the National Roads Authority (CONAVI) the work on this bridge is halfway done, and they have complied with the work chronogram; therefore, the work is expected to be concluded by June this year. This bridge involved an investment of $8.5 million.

“Yesterday (Thursday), we began with the field studies for the final design of the extension of the road Santa Ana-Belen through a length of 2,250 meters, beginning in the bridge over the Virilla River and finishing with the bridge over Corrogres River”, affirmed the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation.

The new bridge will be 133 meters long, 12.10 meters wide to be able to fit two lanes of 3.6 meters each.
