The only thing to complain about is the incredibly ridiculous traffic to get in and out of the venue, but there is little that can be done to solve this, and truthfully the fans didn’t care, it was a small sacrifice to pay to get to watch Bruno Mars perform live in Costa Rica.

The National Stadium had all its locations full, this was no surprise since the tickets went like bread out of the oven and the production company actually had to figure out a way to make new locations available.

It was 7 p.m. sharp when Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle, members of dance-rock band DNCE took the stage and warmed up the audience. Even though this band is still somewhat new it has several hits and the attending public was happy to see Jonas on stage, a familiar face from his days as part of pop band The Jonas Brothers. Jonas’ vocals, stage presence and the fun energy he has with the rest of the talented band, won the audience over and prepared them for what was coming. DNCE left the stage 45 minutes later to the song We are the Champions and waving the Costa Rican flag.

The wait seemed long, Bruno Mars didn’t come out to the stage until 8:20 to the song Finesse the stadium roared, some fans screamed, others cried and some were left speechless, 24K Magic followed and the 35 thousand fans lost it, the fireworks, the lights, the dance moves…

Fun, energetic, Mars and his band entertained the diverse audience (from kids to senior citizens) and interacted with them for almost two hours playing hit after hit, the chairs at this point had no use, the entire stadium stood, they danced, jumped, sang, a few sighed but the majority screamed.

His vocals are flawless, his ability as a dancer, entertainer, and guitar player cannot be denied. Mars finished his concert in Costa Rica with the hit Uptown Funk and promising to visit again soon. The production was also very good, great sound, incredible light show and fireworks.
