Ray Guze a man from Okanagan Valley in Canada, a former BC Hockey League player and professional lacrosse player, died while vacationing in Costa Rica.
Apparently Guze was spending his vacation in the country with some friends, “He was dancing on a ledge, slipped and fell approximately 10 feet, hitting his head on a cement block dying instantly. The British Columbia native played seven NLL seasons with Minnesota, Portland and Colorado and spent over a decade in the WLA with Burnaby, Okanagan, North Shore, Langley and Coquitlam.
Information on where the tragic accident occurred was not disclosed by The Red Cross.
Guze’s family started a Go Fund Me page to raise money to face the expenses of flying the man’s body back to his homeland and cover funeral expenses.
Friends and family of the athlete expressed their sorrow through social media.
The Funeral will be held March 10th at 2 pm in Vernon.
