In Costa Rica, the Foundation Pro Palliative Care Unit looks after an average of 1,600 children both in and outpatients and has expenses that add up to close to 42 million colones (Approximately $74,000) a month that includes attention to at least 48 inpatients every month, payroll, medicine, food, conferences to provide support for the families, funeral expenses, among others.

This Foundation was created in 1990 with the main intention of providing hospital and house attention and support to children facing a terminal illness and their families.

Children from all corners of Costa Rica travel to their facilities looking for pain relief and professional care.
The Foundation is requesting donations to help them build a new center, the Pediatric Palliative Care Home, since their current infrastructure is exceeding its capacities and is not able to provide the services needed to all children that require it. The investment required for the construction of this new building is estimated in US$8 million.

Go to the movies: The national film GiGi is screening in movie theaters in Costa Rica, and the proceedings will go to the construction of this new Pediatric Palliative Care Center.

Play Bingo: The foundation is organizing a BINGO at the Marriot Hotel in San Antonio de Belén, November 13 at 7:30 p.m.
