Costa Rica’s ambassador to the newly inaugurated embassy in Azerbaijan, Jairo López Bolaños, stepped into his new role this week, reported the Azerbaijan State New Agency, Azertac.

Ambassador Jairo López Bolaños met with Parvin Mirzazade, head of the State Protocol Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the development of the newly kindled diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Costa Rica reported Azertac.

Manuel González Sanz, Costa Rica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a letter announcing the appointment and opening of the Embassy to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, reported the news agency.

Azerbaijan now houses 64 foreign embassies, representatives of 12 international organizations, and 4 consulates, said Azertac.
