Canadian site Globehunters published information based on data by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about where it is safe to drink tap water around the world.
The results indicate that there are 187 countries where drinking tap water should be avoided, “It is important to note that this does not mean that water in a country is unsafe or polluted, just that as a tourist, your body will not be used to the water in that area”, reads the report.
In Latin America, there are only two countries were drinking tap water is safe, one of the is Costa Rica, and the other one is Chile.
In the American continent drinking tap water is also safe in Canada and the United States.
