The Ministry of Health reported some positive news with the recovery of 24 patients diagnosed with Covid-19 in Costa Rica.

The total number of Covid-19 positive patients is of 483 only 16 more than the day before. In total there are 237 women and 246 men diagnosed with the illness, 34 are foreign citizens.

25 people remain hospitalized out of which 14 are in intensive care with ages ranging from 35 to 85 years.

As of Wednesday, April 8 through Sunday April 12, a nationwide vehicle restriction will be enforced. Vehicles will only be allowed on the roads for going to the supermarket, pharmacy, or health centers, and are limited by license plate numbers as follows:

Wednesday April 8th : vehicles with plates ending on 0 and 1
Thursday April 9th : vehicles with plates ending on 2 and 3
Friday April 10th : vehicles with plates ending on 4 and 5
Saturday April 11th: vehicles with plates ending on 6 and 7
Sunday April 12th : vehicles with places ending on 8 and 9

The fine for drivers who disobey the restriction is of 110 thousand colones (approx. $193.00 USD).

The United States Embassy in San Jose announced: “Due to countrywide travel restrictions routine consular services will not be offered on Wednesday, April 8 and the U.S. Embassy will be closed Thursday April 9 – Monday April 13, due to observance of local holidays.
