“La Sele”, the Costa Rica male national soccer team and in particular head coach, Oscar Ramirez, have been the object of criticisms especially since their lost to Serbia last Sunday in their first game in the Russia World Cup.

There’s been talk about the lack of capacity to lead and innovate from Ramirez, gossip about differences in the locker room between different groups of players, the Costa Rican Soccer Federation has been adamant that it is all lies and everything is in harmony behind closed doors.

The truth is, that so far the national team has seemed limited, shining in just a few moments during the game, with some of its players taking the lead role, but without a solid strategy, without team work and without an offensive game.

Today, the head coach announced the line up to face Brazil, one of the favorite teams to win the World Cup.
Keylor Navas, Cristian Gamboa, Giancarlo Gonzales, Johnny Acosta, Oscar Duarte, Bryan Oviedo, Celso Borges, David Guzman, Bryan Ruiz, Marco Ureña and Johan Venegas.

The only change from the lineup presented against Serbia is Bryan Oviedo who is replacing Francisco Calvo.
According to the head coach he plans to maintain the same structure but will change some concepts within his game plan.

Brazil tied with Switzerland in their first game.

In Group E, Serbia takes the first place after beating Costa Rica, followed by Brazil and Switzerland with the same number of points and in last place Costa Rica.
