A new sports and entertainment theme park will open doors in May of 2017 in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Sport Land, hopes to provide kids and adults a space for the practice of different sports, games and different entertainment alternatives as an option for families and friends to have fun together and forget about electronic forms of entertainment for a while.
41,000 square meters will be divided in three different areas for the enjoyment of park members:
Adventure: Paintball, Ice Skating, Wall Climbing, Skate park, Canopy, Roller Coaster, Artificial Snow, Helicopter rides and Scuba Diving
Sports: Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball and Tennis
For Families: Food Court, Horseback Riding, Go Karts, Mini Golf, Flight Simulator, Water Slides, Pirate Ship among others.
The first stage of the project is expected to be concluded by April of 2017 and will open to the public in May with nine attractions, the second and third stage that will complete a total of twenty attractions will be done by 2018, and amphitheater, banking options and pet area are also contemplated.
The estimated investment is of $4.8 million USD and will provide close to 200 jobs. The construction of this project is being supervised by Great Parks, a U.S. company dedicated to the design, construction and equipment of different types of parks, particularly water-parks and theme parks.
Sport Land will not be open to the general public but instead will offer memberships which will have an approximate cost of $1,000.00 USD a year in presale. It will be located in the road to La Garita in Alajuela.
