During the UN’s 73rd General Assembly this week Costa Rica will present its initiative for and “All Coalition”, which includes topics such as environmental protection, climate action, inclusion, diversity, access to justice and international law, regional and global governance in migration and cooperation, and financing for development.

These priorities and objectives coincide with those defined by the Government when it comes to foreign affairs policies.

Vice-President of Costa Rica Epsy Campbell will be representing the country in this Assembly, standing in for President Carlos Alvarado who decided his presence is needed right now in Costa Rica due to the ongoing labor unions’ strike.

Campbell will be attending different events and has scheduled several bilateral meetings with the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, the President of the IDB, Luis Alberto Moreno, the High Commissioner of the UN for Refugees Filippo Grandi and the High Commissioner for the UN in Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet; the Vice-President will also preside the event Leveling the Law for Women and Girls by 2030 and participate in a series of other activities and meetings.

For All Coalition is a project promoted by Vice-Chancellor, Lorena Aguilar, and it promotes gender parity and human rights in multilateral environmental agreements.
