Costa Rican BMX street and park rider Kenneth “Pollis” Tencio will begin 2017 with two big challenges, in January he will inaugurate his BMX freestyle track, similar to those used in international tournaments such as the (Festival International des Sports Extremes) FISE World Series, the initial plan was to make this his training facility and this way save money on traveling to train in different areas but not he has confirmed the track will be available to the public.

The new track will be located in Jaco, Puntarenas next to Jaco Ropes, and so far, has involved an investment of $10,000.00 USD, the track will feature seven different ramps with different transitions. “I hope it will help develop other riders since the talent in the country grows every day” commented the rider who currently holds the 11th position in the World Cycling Union (UCI) ranking as freestyle cyclist.

The use of the track by the public will involve a small fee which has not been determined yet, but that will help Kenneth get back his investment and pay for his traveling expenses when competing.

In February 4-5, the 23-year-old Tencio will participate in the world-renowned Simple Session 17 event in the Saku Arena, Tallin, Estonia. This is just the first of several competitions he expects to be a part of throughout 2017 and that he hopes will allow him to climb positions in the world ranking, his next goal is to finish next year in the top 5.

Kenneth Tencio was born in Cartago, Costa Rica and has been competing professionally for 10 years,, he gained even more popularity when earlier this year he pulled off the world’s first backflip down a flight of stairs on a BMX. (Watch the video below)
