Saturday, June 3 around 2:30 p.m., at the beach Organos, Paquera in Puntarenas, authorities were alerted to the presence of a more than 8-foot long crocodile.
Though part of the animal’s usual habits, to come out of nearby rivers and roam beaches, the animals do pose an increasing risk to growing numbers of tourists to some beaches.
According to the communications department of the fire department, the crocodile was captured and delivered to the Curú Wildlife Refuge also on the Nicoya Peninsula in Puntarenas.
