Costa Rican police had two new cases of cocaine in the Pacific Coast, completing for this year more than 30 tons of this drug seized.

The first case was reported by the Colombia National Police, which informed of a vessel possibly carrying illegal substances. The vessel by name CAP PATTON of Colombian Shipping & Marine Supplier Eduardo L. Gerlein S.A., navigating under Liberian Flag and with Philippine crew, which departed from the port of Guayaquil, Ecuador had as final destination the Caldera Port, Costa Rica.

The Drug Control Police responds to the alert and coordinated with the Coast Guard Service to inspect the vessel with the help of Coast Guard divers. A bag was found near the grid of the stern containing 31 kilograms of cocaine.

In the second case the information came from the US P-3 maritime surveillance aircraft that reported packets attached to a GPS buoy, the National Coast Guard Service found 11 packets with approximately 275 kilograms of cocaine. The Air Surveillance Service will continue the search today to confirm there are no additional packets.

With the almost 30 tons the Costa Rican police has seized the drug cartels have lost an approximate $1 billion.
