Yokasta Valle vs. Ana Victoria Polo

Valle vs. Polo Female Boxing Costa Rican boxer Yokasta Valle and Mexican Ana Victoria Polo made weight today and had their last meeting with the press before their World Title Bout this Friday, December 16.

Fighters faced off this Thursday, December 15 at noon time in front of the offices of Banca Kristal, sponsor of the event, in downtown San Jose. Yokasta Valle weighed in at 101.4 pounds while Ana Victoria Polo marked 100.6

This 10-round fight will take place in the Central Park of San Jose at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in an event completely open to the public and aired live by local channel TDN.
Valle is an undefeated boxer with 11 wins, 6 of them by knockout; while the Mexican Ana Victoria Polo has 10 wins and 1 loss. The winner will become the first female world champion in category 102 pounds (Light-Mini Flyweight World Championship) of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), this is a new weight category for this organism.

“This is the opportunity I have been waiting for, this is my chance, and I am ready for whatever comes, I have prepared very hard for this. All Mexican fighters are very good, strong and courageous, so I know it will be a hard fight. This is the fifth Mexican I face and I hope I will fight a Japanese after her” said the Costa Rican, making reference to the current WBA champion in this weight category

While Polo commented: “I want to take the belt home with me, it’s my dream, and I am leaving everything in that ring in order to achieve that, I know she is fighting at home, but I have been preparing for this fight for a month and a half”.

The event will present two other fights, a six-round heavyweight match between Costa Rican Carl Davis Drummond and Juan Luis Gonzalez and a four rounder bout featuring Royner Mora and Elvin Rodriguez. Also, some exhibition matches for the attending public to enjoy.
