Costa Rica’s Treasury Department (Ministerio de Hacienda) will auction 10 properties located in the provinces of San José, Guanacaste and Limón as part of the measures taken by the Central Government to face deficit.
The properties being auctioned were given to Treasury as payment for debts and others were transferred from other institutions.
One of these properties is a 1,092 square meter (11,754.19 square foot) lot for construction locate in the exclusive Valle del Sol Residential in Pozos de Santa Ana.
The reception of offers will be open starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6 and through 9 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 through the auction module of the Integrated System of Public Purchases (Sicop); details on each property, including exact location, characteristics and base price are available in the Treasury’s webpage: //www.hacienda.go.cr/noticias/14308-hacienda-rematara-diez-propiedades-en-diciembre
Those interested in participating must register ahead of time in Sicop to participate in the electronic bid, a system that was implemented several tears back with the purpose of allowing the participating of people anywhere in the country.
The 10 properties have base prices that together add up to over $2 million.
According to article 11 of guideline 070-H of March 30, 2017 submitted by the Executive Branch, public entities are authorized to sell assets that are idle or unnecessary.
