By mid-2017, shoppers in Costa Rica will have a new furniture and home decor option when Crate & Barrel, the popular U.S. store, opens at Avenida Escazú.
The company is known for their contemporary designs and affordable prices.
Monica Fonseca, manager of the Costa Rican locale, said the franchise is investing US$4 million in this first Crate & Barrel to open in Central America.
The new store will offer seasonal designs and a full line of exterior and interior furniture. In addition, Crate & Barrel will provide Costa Rican wedding registry services, one of their hallmark services.
Products will include home furnishings, kitchen items, dining and entertainment, decoration, lighting, bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor organization among their portfolio of products.
The U.S.-based company has more than 50 years of experience; it launched its first store in 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Crate & Barrel works directly with European designers and factories to import their products
The Avenida Escazú locale will be 2,200 square meters and will employ at least 40 people,” said Fonseca.
In addition to the new Costa Rica outlet, and another underway in Colombia, Crate & Barrel’s other Latin American stores include franchises in Mexico and Peru, said the company.
