Tamarindo Beach’s Ocaso Festival begins this week with a delicious, varied line-up of music, art, and gastronomy.

Entrance is free for attendees who sign up at the festival’s site, but space is limited (www.ocasofestival.com), said event organizers in a press statement.

The festival starts this Thursday, January 5, and lasts for four straight days of fun under the sun.

“The idea is that for four days people dance at sunset with the best views of the beach while enjoying good food and music to start the year,” said Esteban Navarro, event organizer.

The event kicks off at Langosta Beach Club where attendees can dance on the beach from 4 p.m. onward. Friday, January 6th, festival goers can boogey from noon on in the pool at the Tamarindo Vista Villas Hotel, said organizers.

“In recent months Tamarindo has been very active in offering cultural activities and providing people with new spaces for recreation. These efforts help boost the local economy; they are held very often and with good success,” said Hernán Imhoff, President of the Tamarindo Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (CCTT), one of the event co-sponsers.

Saturday, January 7, the festival venue will be La Senda, with music performed in a beautiful natural surrounding.

And the closing event on Sunday will be again at the beachfront Langosta Beach Club.

Special guest musicians include Edu Imberon, Dance Spirit Live, Andreas Henneberg, Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, DJ Tennis, Doc Martín, Anthony Attalla, Aquaris Heaven, Pillow Talk, Pattern Drama, KMLN Mobius Strum, Brett Ballou, Alex Orias, De Sostoa, Fredo, Faceblind, Javee, Eleazar Delve, Hassan Marofi, David Charpentier, and Andes and Carlos Montenegro.

Native Events, a cooperative effort of B3 Cande Productions of Los Angeles (United States) and the Vanguard Group CR of Tamarindo, Costa Rica will be bringing internationally renowned DJs including Art Department, Lee, Burridge, and Desert Hearts ShowCase.
