Ariana Grande, the Italian-descent singer from Florida, U.S. is scheduled to perform at Parque Viva in La Guácima, Costa Rica on July 9. The concert’s official Facebook page hinted at the possibility of a cancellation, but had no specific information in the wake of the violent UK incident that took the lives of at least 19 people, and injured at least 50, according to international press reports.
The Guardian newspaper provided the following summary of a police press conference following the explosion outside the Manchester Arena in England at 10:33 p.m. where Ariana Grande, teen pop idol, had just finished a concert.
According to tour organizers, TMZ, “Ariana Grande has indefinitely suspended her world tour in the wake of the terrorist bombing in England.
Sources connected to Ariana told TMZ she will not perform in a concert scheduled Thursday in London, and has put the entire European tour on hold. She was scheduled to perform in Belgium, Poland, Germany and Switzerland after finishing in England.
TMZ reported that Ariana tweeted, “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.”
They also reported that Ariana is inconsolable and “in hysterics” after the bombing, and is incapable of performing. She and her team, said TMZ, are also very concerned about security.
Ariana’s manager, Scooter Braun, said, “We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act,” adding, “We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.”
Our sources say Ariana is not concerned with her shows in the wake of the explosion, saying she and her team will re-evaluate the touring schedule when she’s emotionally ready, according to TMZ

“Greater Manchester police is holding an update to brief the press and public on the incident.
Chief Constable Ian Hopkins says reports were received at 10.33pm of an explosion.
He says 19 people have died, with a further 50 people injured and being treated at hospitals across Greater Manchester.
He says an emergency number has been set up for those worried about loved ones: 0161 856 9400.
We are currently treating this as a terrorist incident until we have further information …

He says police are working with other officials to investigate the circumstances of the explosion.
He asks people to avoid the area around the arena while the investigation is ongoing.”
