A Dutchman tried to enter Costa Rica through the Juan Santamaria Airport with methamphetamines hidden in the double lining of his suitcase.

The 50-year-old man, of last names Caurbocia Peña, who apparently has no criminal record or pending criminal causes, flew in from Zurich, Switzerland and had a ticket to go back to this same destination on April 10.
Methamphetamine is a stimulant drug that increases the amount of the natural chemical dopamine in the brain, causing what is known as a “rush” (euphoria), methamphetamine can be inhaled (smoked), swallowed (pills), snorted or dissolved and injected.

Authorities have not confirmed the exact amount carried by the foreigner but apparently it exceeded 3 kilograms.

Also, on Wednesday, authorities detained an Italian with 4 grams of marijuana and an American with 58 grams of marijuana as well as four people carrying amounts over the allowed $10,000.00 .
