Swiss airline Edelweiss will begin operating a third flight from Zurich to San Jose, the announcement was made by the Costa Rica Minister of Tourism, Mauricio Ventura, from the ITB Travel Trade Show in Berlin where the country is participating.
“Less than a year ago we announced the beginning of operations in the country of this prestigious airline, member of Lufthansa Group, today we feel very satisfied to confirm an additional third flight, with which we will continue growing in this important market which has already shown a growth of almost 25% in comparison to the previous year”, highlighted Ventura.
Alan Chisari, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss stated that “the decision, officially communicated during the ITB, is a result of the successful operation the company has had in the country, as well as the exemplary work that the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) does from the hand of the private tourist sector, which facilitates the promotion of the route, generates trust on the destination and facilitates the join labor to continue growing. Without a doubt it is an example for the rest of the world”.
The route is operated with a new Airbus A340-300 with capacity for 314 passengers. Edelweiss Business Class is equipped with 27 reclining seats and last generation entertainment system with 16” HD touch screen. Economy Max has 76 seats with an additional 6” of leg space, larger reclining angle and other additional features.
