Swiss airline Edelweiss part of Lufthansa group, reached occupation levels of over 85% in the first nine months operating the direct flight between Zurich and San Jose, Costa Rica, this result has motivated them to increase the number of weekly flights from two to three starting September 30th, 2018.
Currently, Edelweiss flies between Costa Rica and Switzerland on Tuesdays and Fridays, as of September it will also fly on Sunday, the announcement was made by executive director Bern Bauer, who is currently in the country to inaugurate the social responsibility program of Lufthansa in Costa Rica.
Bauer highlighted that the occupation of Edelweiss flights are in average of 81.5% , which means that the results for Costa Rica are above average, offering service to 37,000 passengers between Zurich and Costa Rica, 80% of them are European and 20% are Costa Rican.
Lufthansa also operates four direct flights to Costa Rica from Frankfurt, Germany and will increase the frequencies to five this year.
