We always hear complaints about the lack of entertainment options in the city for teenagers in Costa Rica, places like Laser Tag have come to fill this gap, but it still seems as though there aren’t enough alternatives still to cater to this market, and they end up watching a movie and walking around the mall. Escape Room Costa Rica is an entertainment option for this population and it is also great for adults.
The place opened in September of 2016 and it offers two rooms with two scenarios in which a team must try to accomplish a mission and escape in less than 60 minutes.
The game requires teamwork, the use of logic, observation and problem-solving skills, it’s entertaining and fun.
Two escape rooms offer each a different scenario, in the first one, “The Cup Robbery”, you have to enter an office, steal the world cup and, of course, escape in under 60 minutes; in the second one “Taliban Prisoners”, the website explains, “you and your team are caught by the Taliban and taken to a secret bunker. American troops just attacked the place and have forced all the terrorists to leave.now you’re locked up and all alone. You have 60 minutes to get out, or else…”.
Participants ideally should be over 16, but players 12 and above are welcome as long as at least one person in the group is over 16. Teams must be of 2-8 players; the game is designed for English and Spanish speakers alike.
Escape Room must be reserved with anticipation which can be done online through their webpage escaperoomcostarica.com. The cost runs between ¢12,000 per person for teams of 8 and up to ¢15,000 colones per person for teams of 2 people ($20-$27 USD approximately).
Take your family or group of friends in this fun activity!
