June 8th, is the date in which the Costa Rica Male National Soccer Team “La Sele” will have the next hex classification game in the route towards Russia 2018 World Cup.
“La Sele” will play at home in the National Stadium and will face the Panama team. The announcement of the referee was already made by FIFA, the organism named Mexican-American Jair Marrufo as referee for this match; he will be assisted by Corey Rockwell and Frank Anderson.
Both teams are familiar with Marrufo as in the past Central America Cup celebrated in Panama he directed a game between Honduras and Panama in which he sanctioned a controversial penalty in favor of Honduras. He was also in charge of directing the game between Costa Rican and Jamaica in March, 2016. Marrufo is a referee for the MLS since 2002 and FIFA International since 2007.
The Costa Rican Soccer Federation announced just a few days ago they only have three thousand tickets left to sell for this game, so “La Sele” will be playing at a full house.
June 13th, “La Sele” will receive Trinidad & Tobago and the referee for this game will be Cuban Yadel Martínez who will have the assistance of Leonardo Sánchez and Guatemalans Hermenerito Leal and Mario Escobar.
Costa Rica is in the second place of its group with 7 points, the first place is held by Mexico with 10 points, Panama has the third spot with 5 points; USA and Honduras share the fourth/fifth position tied with 4 points and Trinidad & Tobago is last in the group.
