Although the date announced for the opening of the first Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant was October this year delays occurred and it has been confirmed that now the franchise will open its first location at the end of January 2018.

With an investment of close to $3 million the first of three Chuck E Cheese’s will open at Plaza Bratsi, Heredia.

The franchise is a project of Costa Rican Corporation Alvarez & Marin; this first location will be the biggest of the three that are planned to open by 2019 with close to 2000 square meters (21528 square feet). Chuck E Cheese’s is a popular restaurant and entertainment center in the United States, designed for children between the ages of 2-12.

“The delays are normal in businesses like this that depend on a lot of different providers and the imports logistics”, explained Adriana Alvarez, Executive Director of the Company.

“Parents can play with their children. The food is of good quality with pizza being the star product, but also offering salads, sandwiches and wings”, continued Alvarez.

Alvarez & Marin is the corporation formed by Costa Rican politician Antonio Alvarez Desanti and his wife Nuria Marín Raventós, it was founded in 1982.

This is one of many other franchises that have already set up business in the country such as Starbucks and Johnny Rockets and others like IHOP and Buffalo Wild Wings (B-Dubs) that have recently announced their interest in entering the Costa Rican market.
