Gypsy Jaunt, a socially conscious travel platform for women of the African Diaspora, recently announced its first official trip, which will feature a five-day vacation in Costa Rica. The trip is focused on the idyllic coastal community of Santa Teresa, located in the Nicoya Peninsula of the Puntarenas province.
Details on this girlfriend vacation to Costa Rica, which costs $500, are as follows:
Trip Length: 5 Days
Join us in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, a beach town with lots of great food, surfing and scenery. We’ll be sharing in the culture of the locals, relaxing and doing a little bit of sister bonding.
About Santa Teresa: Santa Teresa is the ideal place for a beach getaway with plenty to do and explore! A broad strip of forest lines the beach of Santa Teresa and as there are no high-rise buildings the coastline still looks pristine, backed by jungle covered hills and with a long sweep of white sand beach washed by the pacific surf. Behind the beach forest Santa Teresa’s main drag extends parallel to the coast with tons of great local cafes, restaurants, surf shops and more!
Price: $500 – Includes: Hotel stay at Otro Lado Lodge, breakfast, yoga classes, one 1-hour massage and canopy tour. Add $130 for roundtrip airport transfer to and from hotel per vehicle – Must book separately. Also keep in mind we can help coordinate with others arriving and leaving at the same time to save on cost of transportation.
May 11 – Getting there (Book travel on your own): Upon arrival in San Jose International Airport, you will connect to your onward flight to Tambor Airport. Upon arrival in Tambor, you will need to take a taxi, shuttle or book a private car (separate cost) to be transferred approximately one hour to Santa Teresa, where you will check into Otro Lado Lodge for a four-night stay. After some time to relax and settle in, enjoy a group restorative stretching yoga session. Then we’ll have dinner together. Location TBD.

Within Costa Rica, Sansa and Nature Air both fly from SJO – TMU. The flight from is approximately 20 minutes.
**Please note that depending on your international flights, you may need to overnight at the Marriot Alajuela hotel on May 10th (not included).
May 12 – Canopy Tour and Exploration: After an early breakfast, head to the yoga pavilion for a 9 AM yoga and meditation session. At 11 AM you will be picked up and transferred to Malpais for an exhilarating zip line tour through the rainforest! After lunch and some free time to explore, you will be transferred back to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
May 13 and 14– Massage and Relaxation: Be sure to book your one-hour massage session (included) at arrival. Use this day to explore, enjoy the beach and more. Optional activities, including surf lessons, horseback riding and more will also be available.
May 15 – Morning Yoga and Farewell: Revitalize and stretch. Enjoy your last day in Santa Teresa
