The fourth season of the dance competition Dancing With The Stars Costa Rica announced tonight the names of the ten celebrities that will be part of the television show, among them, Stafford Fitzgerald Haney, former ambassador of the United States in Costa Rica.

Fitzgerald concluded his term in July 14th and confirmed then that his family and him were happy in the country and would stay in Costa Rica for the time being. Republican Sharon Day was assigned in his place.

The announcement of the participation of the diplomat in the popular T.V. show came as quite a surprise, since usually the participants involve local television and radio celebrities. The rest of the stars that will be part of this season include sports journalist Adriana Durán, dancer and physical trainer Daniel Carvajal; TV personality Johanna Ortiz; actress Marcela Ugalde; model Natalia Carvajal; former soccer player Harold Wallace; chef Sofía Rodríguez; TV host Victor Carvajal and Los 40 radio host Gustavo Gamboa.

Dancing with the Stars is a show produced in 48 countries; it consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer, each couple competes against for judges’ points and audience votes. The couples have to learn a new choreography each week for ballroom rhythms such as foxtrot, quickstep, tango, jive, among others.

The exact date when the fourth season of the show will air has not been announced yet but as usual it will air in Channel 7 on Sunday nights.
