Johanna Solano, winner of the 2011 Miss Costa Rica pageant, has been one of the most celebrated beauty queens of our country in recent times. When Miss Solano was crowned queen of all Ticos four years ago, she started a trend insofar as portraying an image of a modern woman who is equally passionate about beauty as she is dedicated to fitness.

In the run-up to Miss Universe, Miss Solano became an international fan favorite, particularly among those who admired her ultra-toned physique. As reported by The Costa Rica Star in late 2011:

The beautiful Miss Costa Rica 2011, Johanna Solano, is currently one of the top contenders to take the title of the beauty queen with the best physique in the planet in 2011. The 21-year old stunner, who is a former Señorita San José pageant competitor, currently ranks at number six in the Reinas Universal Awards Best Body of 2011 list published by the online version of 20 Minutos, a leading news daily in Spain.

After her reign concluded in Costa Rica, Miss Solano became an avid triathlon enthusiast. She has entered several competitions and earned various medals. Last year, Miss Solano left for Mexico, where she joined the popular video music channel RitmoSon Latino and became the host of a morning exercise show.

Recently, Miss Solano shook up social networks when she announced her decision to be photographed wearing nothing but a pair of purple running shoes for Triatlón, a Mexican magazine dedicated to endurance competitions.
